That being said... anything that makes Dessies in more use is good in my book. Right now, short of looters, they are totally underused.

They eat frigates everywhere. But outside FW they don't have a good role in fleets/gang action.
They don't have enough tank to fight 1 on 1, and they don't have the DPS on larger ships to be useful in a gang encounter. (short of taking out any inties that might be around)
I often fly one in gangs anyway, which means I rarely get any real damage on the target, but I can vaporize any tacklers in the enemy group long before they can cause a problem. 60km + with guns and t1 ammo. Plus ultra tracking and you can pop inty/drones so fast you can't target them quick enough. AFs can be a problem if they get in rang, but thats why you fill the mids with Ewar.
Question: In FW plexes, can you take a T2 ship in? Like an interdictor? What about AF/inty? I'm a FW nub.

Not that I'm totally unsympathetic to the idea of new ship types, but the OP seemed to be saying that there weren't any tech 2 destroyers out there.
But then you had to be an asshat for no particualr reason (an endemic problem on the eve-o forums) so I vote no. No new destroyers because Malcanis is a self-important forum warrior who just has to try and flame anyone he thinks he might get a rise out of.
